Federica Cavazzoni

Clinical Psychologist, Lecturer at the Department of Psychology in Milan at Sigmund Freud University, Research Fellow in Clinical and Dynamic Psychology at the University of Milan-Bicocca.

Federica Cavazzoni graduated with honors in Clinical Psychology from the University of Padua. She gained extensive experience through internships and projects in the fields of mental health, human rights, and violence related to war and conflict settings, both in Italy and abroad. She earned her PhD from the University of Milan-Bicocca, where her research focused on the impact of political and colonial violence on children, exploring their survival, resilience, and agency strategies. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting scholar at Birzeit University (Ramallah) and An Najah University (Nablus) in Palestine where she conducted her fieldwork, as well as Columbia University in New York.

Following her PhD, she continued as a research fellow at the University of Milan-Bicocca, expanding her work on the dynamics of oppression and resistance through an intersectional lens. Her research also includes feminist studies, with a particular emphasis on how political violence affects women in contexts of war and colonial occupation. Currently, she is also engaged in studying well-being and distress within academic environments, focusing on gender dynamics and intersectional oppression in the Italian academic system.
