Simona Scaini, PhD in Developmental Psychopathology, has focused her research primarily on the interaction between environmental and genetic factors in influencing the etiology of internalizing and externalizing manifestations in childhood and adolescence, starting from her doctoral research.
In 2012, she conducted a work period at Thalia Eley’s Behavioral Genetics Laboratory at the Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry Centre (MRC) – Institute of Psychiatry – King’s College London as a visiting student. She serves as a reviewer for various international peer-reviewed journals and received the NARSAD Young Investigator Award in 2015.
Furthermore, she works as a psychologist and psychotherapist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of internalizing and externalizing psychopathologies in children and adolescents.
