Psychological Counseling at Sigmund Freud University

The University Clinical Services of SFU Milan have been established to provide targeted and specific sessions of personalized therapy based on the cognitive-behavioral model for all young people experiencing emotional and relational issues, as well as difficulties in managing university or work life.

Young people accessing the University Clinical Services can benefit from customized specific pathways that help identify the problem, explore the related emotions and thoughts, and develop strategies and techniques to effectively address it. The aim is to intervene on specific issues in a focused and targeted manner, avoiding the dispersion of energy and resources on aspects that may be more core and thus more suited for a psychotherapy course.

The proposed psychological counseling interventions promote the active role of the individual, motivation, and commitment. The psychologist clearly and precisely supports and guides the person in the process of change and personal growth, and through this collaboration, the individual can experience a significant transformation in their life and psychological well-being.

Who Can Access SFU’s Psychological Counseling

Psychological counseling interventions are aimed at students of Sigmund Freud University and all students from other universities. The University Clinical Services are also available to all young people aged 18 to 30.

Objectives of SFU’s Psychological Service

  • Understand emotional, behavioral, or relational difficulties.
  • Learn and apply strategies for managing emotional, behavioral, or relational issues.

The professionals in the University Clinical Services have training that enables them to provide effective cognitive-behavioral support based on scientific evidence, allowing individuals to become aware of their discomfort by establishing focused objectives to be addressed through specific brief psychological counseling interventions.
