Integrated Course (IC) – opzionale
Objectives
The course aims to guide students in the understanding and practical application of qualitative methodology in clinical settings, with a particular focus on:
- Experiencing different qualitative methodologies and their use in clinical research,
- Deepening the application of qualitative methods in various clinical contexts, such as group interventions, community-based interventions, psychotherapy, and others,
- Developing skills in designing qualitative research applied to clinical practice, with special attention to its practical implications across different contexts and stakeholders.
Syllabus
The course emphasizes the importance and contribution of qualitative research in clinical practice, with a particular focus on analyzing research questions and their practical implications.
Students will have the opportunity to work with research and clinical materials provided by the instructor, as well as international publications, and will actively engage in the collaborative process of designing and developing qualitative research applied to clinical contexts.
Specific skills will be developed in analyzing the research question and context, using qualitative techniques (which will be directly tested), and designing the practical outcomes of the research, taking into consideration the needs of various stakeholders (e.g., organizations, communities, populations, etc.).
The entire process will be supported by continuous reflection through the study of scientific articles with diverse goals, methodologies, and practical applications, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexity and value of qualitative research in clinical practice.
Exam
The final evaluation will consist of a written exam with open-ended questions.
Bibliography
The slides and the scientific papers provided by the teacher will be shared with students and used as course materials.
