Proseminar (PS)
Objectives
Students will be guided by the course to accomplish the following goals:
- Get to know and experience the different tools that can be implemented in qualitative and/or mixed method research design,
- Learn useful strategies for creating qualitative research tools,
- To design and experiment a qualitative research project based on the student’s interests, both individually and in groups.
Syllabus
The course provides students with a comprehensive overview of the tools essential for conducting qualitative research. Students will actively participate in all stages, from formulating a qualitative research design to selecting and creating data collection tools, concluding with the presentation of their own project proposal. During the sessions, students will be asked to develop bibliographies on a topic of their choice. Specific skills will be acquired in drafting a project proposal, formulating research questions, identifying relevant data and sources, and defining appropriate data collection and analysis techniques. The entire research design process will be supported by theoretical insights into qualitative studies.
Exam
The final evaluation will consist of a presentation of a research project built in a group and the production of a personal report in written form.
