Aims
The course aims to provide students with the basic skills to carry out research using qualitative methodologies in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. Examples of previous research relevant to this field will be analysed in the classroom, and practical exercises will be carried out in order to test different possible uses of qualitative research methodologies.
Programme
The course entails carrying out practical exercises on the main methodologies of qualitative research in clinical psychology and psychotherapy:
Thematic Analysis (TA),
Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA),
Discourse Analysis (DA)
Participatory Action-Research (AR).
Furthermore, students will be asked to conduct a group research project choosing one of the methodologies presented.
Exam
The final evaluation will consist of a group presentation of a research project and a written individual research report.
