Serafino Corti, Ph.D., is director of the Department of Disabilities at the Fondazione Istituto Ospedaliero di Sospiro ONLUS.
A graduate in Psychology from the University of Padua, he received his Ph.D. from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan studying the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families; he also designed and applied an experimental model of caregiver support. He continued his studies by acquiring the title of Behavior Analyst.
He is an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Brescia) and Sigmund Freud University of Vienna (Milan); he is vice-president of SIDIN (Italian Society of Neurodevelopmental Disorders), a member of the Board of Directors of FIA (Italian Foundation for Autism) and a member of the scientific committee of ABAITALIA (Applied Behavior Analysis Italia).
He is the coordinator of the Technical Scientific Committee of the National Observatory on the Condition of Persons with Disabilities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and a member of the panel of experts for the drafting of the guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of adults with autism of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS).
He has authored and co-authored articles, chapters and books, in Italian and English, related to interventions to support families with children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and the application of contextualist and quality-of-life models in services to Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.
